early line was 33.5 (-115) at pinny, and within five minutes the over jumped to 34.5 (-280). I took the over 33.5 for 1.42 units. I think this movie will perform quite well. With a theatre count of around 3500(estimate), ferrells fan base, no direct competion, and a nascar theme, it should open in the 35-38 range. Anchorman opened at 28 in 3015 theatres in 2004, with spiderman 2 still hot.This film is rated pg-13 which is also key.

i dont bet 1000's, on these...i highly DOUBT anyone does...pinny has 100 limits on them when they open them...greek has 200 limits...(you think they are gonna stop offering lines on them LOL, i dont think so, whats $100bucks to pinnacle sports and olympic)...

It does look like a good price. I already took over 11 on Barnyard and over 8.5 on Descent so Im not betting any more now. But if I didnt already bet this is what I would do:
Take over 11 on Barnyard at Pinny -110 right now and hedge with Descent +4.5 +150 at Greek
Risking 110 for 100 on Barnyard over 11 and 100 for 150 on Descent +4.5 here are the potential outcomes
If both do at least expected 8.5 and 11 then you win both bets. +250
IF Descent does about expectation and Barnyard goes below 11 then +40
If Descent does 8.5 and Barnyard takes off over 13 then break even
If Descent doest poorly and only gets 6.4, which is more than 2 mil less than expected and Barnyard gets under 11 then -210. So both movies would have to bomb in order to lose both bets. Barnyard may or may not get to 11 but I have a hard time believing that Descent cant get at least 6.5. Based on all the good reviews and the fact that a real horror movie hasnt come out in a while I truly believe that the buzz will take this one close to 10 or so.

the pinny lines are 8.5ov+104 and 11millionov-110 so thats a 3.5million difference and the juice is very close....your getting +150 on the decent and an extra million...the +50 alone makes it a solid play...

that and it seems that the animated films are quickly becoming old this summer...MH didnt breakout....AntBully bombed now we have Barnyard coming out for a new animated movie release 3 weeks in a row...yikes...its impossible to say what barnyard will do this weekend but the trend for the kiddies movies is definitely treading in the wrong direction....on the flip side we have had a solid 5weeks of PIRATES PIRATES PIRATES PIRATES and MV....there really hasnt been a horror movie debut in quite some time...so the horror genre may be anticipating this movie....

just so you know this movie has already been released overseas and has been out for over a year...its a foreign horror film and those typically dont do well in the US...that could play a huge part into just how much this takes in this weekend....
